Found this motor at a Museum in Thomasville, it was a small county museum. It was loose near an exhibit about how the railroads affected the area in the late 1800's, curator knew nothing about it. It looks like a Marx motor, but there are some details which seem off to me. Any help?

Prewrar Marx, minus a few parts.
Sreve
Prewar Marx? That's what I thought, but the board, the half pickup, and the 10 spoked wheels without counterweights threw me off.
The upper right panel is the on/off switch for the reverse unit.
Alright, makes sense

thanks for the correction. i was concentrating more on whether i ever remembered seeing a rod attached to the control lever through the backhead. it sounds logical, but somehow i still can't picture it. i'm currently on the road, so all i have for reference are my old photos.
here is a truly manual Marx reversing motor out of a swing peg CV...
cheers...gary
