I don't think this gon has been done yet done yet but still hoping for a 40's single dome tank car.................Paul
REA Express cars or Reefer express cars. Stock would be fantastic too.
Also diecast commercial trucks from the 30's-1960's in 1:43 scale. That would be sweeeeeeet!!!!!! They nailed the duece & 1/2. Now just build more commercial style trucks.
A semi scale version of the Gunderson MAXI-IV Well Cars. I would like if they could handle 0-31 curves.
Gondolas and flat cars
Gundersons get my vote. Can't get enough of them.
I would like to see something unusual like the built up woodsided cars like the SP used to pull sugar beets from the fields in SoCal to the processing plants in Manteca and Tracy CA. I remember 150+ car consists in my younger years.
Since Menards seems to like making military loads I would vote for some USMC branded items as well as other military branches.
Hasn't been done in O scale yet:
Corrugated gondola.
Also a 62 or 65 foot gondola.
Corrugated Gondolas have many subtle variations, so an average rendition will have to be made.
The Great Northern corrugated gondola was made in N scale by Trainworx.
This is a more recent corrugated gondola built for BN, now BNSF.
The Chicago & North Western, Missouri Pacific, and Southern Pacific have Greenville Steel Car corrugated gondolas still operational on railroads today. This gondola was made in HO scale, so it should be possible to make an O Scale model.
I'm in for a steam era 2-bay hopper and a black single dome tank. Madison style passenger cars too.
There were many Union Pacific corrugated gondolas painted yellow that can be made in O scale.
ExactRail produced the Gunderson 2420 Gondola in HO scale.
The 1980's and 1990's Chicago & North Western colors and graphics on a Gunderson corrugated gondola.
ExactRail made it in HO scale. Please make it in O Scale.
Jim,
I am greedy, I would like to see more Military Rolling stock, maybe this time the US Navy WWII Seabee Work Train consist, now that would be way cool!

A lot of these suggestions have never been done in o-gauge, which leads to the conclusion that Menards would have to work up brand new tooling.
Are all of their freight car offerings thus far from old tooling (k-line or wherever) or did they actually tool up new dies for flat cars, etc?
I would love to see some New haven stuff or maybe some freight cars with only the reporting marks so we could add our own R.R. names . Just a thought.

And those trains carried 1,000,000 passengers per train: FLIES!
A Milwaukee Road transfer caboose would be nice.
There were Transfer Cabooses made in HO and N scale by Bluford Shops and Fox Valley Models that have not been mass produced in O Scale.
Fox Valley Models has announced new N Scale Transfer Cabooses for the Milwaukee Road.

Menards can send an HO scale car to their manufacturer to copy. The gondola I mentioned does not have too many added details and would be a good choice. Plus, All of the other manufacturers are dragging their feet.
FYI, Weaver made the 4 bay version of the ACF centerflow hopper- NOT the 3 bay version.only Lionel and MTH did a 3 bay version.

Everything so far have been clones of existing postwar-style (traditional-size) cars, with slight variations (such as the open stirrups on the 11" flatcars). The one exception to date is the long flatcar (note that even those have not been described as "scale" in any official marketing materials).
I'm guessing that one criteria for items added to the lineup is the ability to negotiate 031 curves, as prior to the introduction of the long flatcars, it was asked what was the longest carbody that could still round an 027 (or 031) curve.
I do notice that 'Menards' has liked this topic

I could use the drop bottom gons....have looked for the MTH ones.... and those logging cars requested above...but, hopefully not with those three spring modern trucks...for me you could put archbars on the logging cars, but Bettendorfs will work, too. (or I will have to change everything out)
Anything BN or BNSF LOL. You guys one the east get everything!
With RMT no longer around, my vote would be for ore cars
I'd like a flat auto carrier with two police cars, each car with working red/blue police lights on top. A flat car carrying a large construction vehicle with flashing safety lights (yellow?) would also be very cool. I like their flat cars with vehicle loads with working lights. I like these products because they are a sharp distinction from the more common box and gondola cars. I have the F-150 security truck with working headlights and taillights and it is one of my favorites. I understand there is a flat load with a lighted ambulance, but I have not seen it in action.
old school post war style single dome tank cars.
