I am restoring a 1700E junior set and I am in need of a set of geared wheels. Does anyone have knowledge of any source that I might contact to purchase these wheels. Thanks for any help!!

I went on a search for those wheels and they are essentially extinct. I purchased a lot of prewar wheels from "under the table" and was able to make a set up for my use.
The 1935 Parts list shows the 1700E using the 1661 wheels. In 1937, the parts list shows the 1661 wheels for early production and 1700E wheels for 1937 production units. The 1942 parts list shows use of 1664 wheels. I'll have to do some digging to see if the actual axles varied throughout, specifically in diameter and if the gearing changed.
Post pictures of what you have and we can try to match up with some of the parts listed above. Look at spoke count, the eccentric crank pin/mount (if any), the gear teeth count and diameter.

Attn: bmoran4 I have posted photos and the dimension for the wheels are 1 1/2 in. Diameter, 8 spokes and 57 teeth. The diameter of axel appears to be1/8 in. Thank s for attention to my post…..

That's good information to have captured, however the axle differences are likely only a few hundredths of an inch difference in size - pretty hard to eyeball without direct comparison. Now you need to search for matches in junk bins at trian shows, online auctions, and wherever. Note that at one point Bowser did make reproductions, but ceased production in 2009.
