I'm interested in preordering from Lionel's 2017 catalogs, but I'd prefer not to have to put down a deposit. Which dealers don't require one?
Cheers!

Charles Ro!
Mr. Muffins
Mr Muffin and Pats trains!!! Both are great to deal with.
I just wish putting down a deposit would guarantee the bleeping thing would be delivered and not canceled.
Ro.
Just trains!
All of them.....
All but one or two as far as I know. BigRail
..........the ones that get my preorders!!
I'll cast my vote for Charlie Ro. Just call them, set up an account and give them a credit card. They won't charge it until the product ships. They are my go to vendor for Lionel and MTH.
Atlas is a different story. Charlie needs 20% down because it is all considered special order. Mr Muffin deals with Atlas on a regular basis, so no deposit. Steve won't even hold your card info. You'll be notified when stuff comes in and pay then.

I love Charles Rio price and service, but their web page drives me nuts. I have trouble finding items, what is the secret? I wish dealers would use lionel number with the 6-xxxxx or just the numbers without the 6 so I can google search for items. Don't add your own code in front of the numbers.
We don't!

Has Charles Ro put up a link for Lionel 2017 pre orders? Can't seem to find on the website.

Historically Ro is usually about a week behind some of the other dealers. I expect to see an email from them (as well as something posted here) any day now.
No Depost No Money Down At Trainworld
Given the delays, cancellations, and dealers going out of business, why on earth would anyone put money down on something that may or may not be made a year or more in advance?
Not suggesting that there's anything wrong with any of the dealers mentioned - I've had good dealings with several of them.
Just my opinion; I would NOT do business with ANY dealer that requires a deposit! Even our local hobby shop does not require any deposit on pre-orders.
Eastside Trains in the Seattle area.

Well, their ears must have been burning. The Charles Ro 2017 Pre-order Pricing is up!
Boom!

Boom!
But the website prices are MAP (as expected), and the 2017 price list has "CALL FOR PRICE" under the early-buy column for lots of the premium BTO products. I'd say a bit of deja vu all over again.

You're right. Didn't catch that at first glance. Looks like there's even call-for-price on some of the new LC+ items.
