Who will be riding one of the many Polar Express trains this season? I took my older daughter on the Polar Express train up in Owosso behind the 1225 back in 2006. It was my 1st experience behind the 1225. We had a great trip. I plan to take all three of my children next winter for my son's 1st trip behind the 1225.

I won't be riding a Polar Express this season. 
We are going to the North Pole, with our grandchildren, via the Newport Dinner Train "Polar Express."
It is so much fun... This will be our third trip and this time we are taking 13 of the kids.
Out here on the Middle East Coast where no UP engines roam or Midwest locomotives venture..I am waiting patiently for this one....to come out of the Western Maryland Scenic shop. A winter excursion is the stuff these dreams are made of.

Well... it's not the Polar Express... but I've got to run the engine on this Saturday's "Santa Train" passenger special. I might get home and in bed by 4 AM once it's all over.
I'll be brakeman (and maybe a little fireman) on the Santa Train at Walkersville Southern the last weekend of the operating season, and the weekend before Christmas. We have 3 runs at 11, 1, & 3. . I'll take a guess and say we will use EMD Model 40 #101 as the power.
Hopefully the weather is nice....last year's Santa Train started with the heat on in the morning. By the second run, coach windows started opening, heat off, cab doors opening, coats and sweatshirts coming off. Turned out to be something like 65* or 70* when we had nearly 12 inches of snow the week before.
Already looking forward to taking our Granddaughter. She turns "1" this year. We're going to wait until she's 4 or 5. Owosso is a fair trek from Richmond, Va.
