Does anyone know how to install a simple sound board into a lionel engine?? So far I get no sound out of speaker. I have hooked to one post to engine motor and grounded one leg to engine frame.

Well, the Williams sound board has exactly four wires, two for the track power and two for the speaker. If you have it connected properly and get no sound, it's broken. 
Use rollers for the hot wire and not the motor.
Thanks Marty for the tip on attaching to rollers. i tried that and I did get a high pitch beeping sound out of the speaker. no chug or other sounds. Any idea what might be the problem???
