John, I run conventional as all of the displays I put up for groups activate with a large momentary button.

Do know of anything along those lines? Synchronized steam with conventional operation. Thank you for your patience.

What is your opinion of FastTrack: Do you think  it needs a cork/foam roadbed or just attached it as it comes out of the

box.  I should post some pictures so folks get an idea of the extent of these displays. UnclePeteRR

Williams does not use puffing smoke units in their steam engines so nothing to synchronize. Their smoke units are made by Seuthe and trickle a wisp of smoke out the stack.

As for your Fast Track question, don’t put it straight down on plywood, the cacaphony will be deafening. A layer of carpet helps if you want to keep things basic. You definitely need a sound deadening surface under the track.
