A8DC6C52-B6F4-4161-AF87-F51D4BF6DA15Are these remotes interchangeable or are they specific to the Infrared Activated Lock-On that came with the set?

Reason I am asking, I have 2 P2 sets, which have this remote-but I run DCS via my TIU, so I haven’t used them.

But, I’m doing some much needed clean up in the MISC Train Room, and would like to put them in their perspective boxes-if there is a perspective box.

Thanks

IR Remotes work any IR Base Only.  These are the bases that raise and lower Track Voltage.  They operate the train conventionally.

DCS Remote CDR has a separate remote that is different, and operates the DCS type base.  This one keeps track voltage high, and operates in a limited command mode.

Simple for you to try it.  Test track one IR Base and watch either remote control it.  G

The original question (which has been answered) gave me pause for reflection.  There was a time when many if not most wireless controls required mating or pairing the transmitter to the receiver.  All transmitters looked alike, all receivers looked alike.  But there was a little sticker affixed to the transmitter and receiver with a number or letter.  Then there were the controls where you'd have to purchase and install a pair of mating crystals...one in the transmitter, one in the receiver.
