Thanks Allan, I saw that too. What I am hoping is that someone will have the actual service info for that engine. I'm not at all sure when Lionel stopped publishing that sort of info, but it seems to me that it was around 1989. And yeah, not too surprising that it's not on the Lionel support page, that seems to have a LOT of info missing, including stuff that used to be on there before they changed their software.

Thanks again,

George

George,

Service information for your B6 is found in Supplement 14 of Lionel Parts Lists and Exploded Diagrams, Page 3-4.  The tender begins on Page 3-8.  There is no wiring diagram, because as John has pointed out, the wiring on this unit is very simple and quite standard due to it having a traditional E-Unit and no sound.

Is Supplement 14 a full traditional service manual?  No.  Lionel stopped publishing these in the 1960's.

In the 70's they went to this Parts-Lists and-Exploded-Diagrams format.  It appears that the last of these (Supplement 47) was published in late 2004, a good 15 years later than you thought.

Here's a link to Supplement 14:

Supplement No. 14, Parts List and Exploded Diagrams (#10-7114), 1989 | Lionel Trains Inc..

Lionel's parts website lionelsupport.com was indeed a big problem when the new version came on line about 16 months ago.  Slowly it's been getting better, a little bit every month.

...Is there something specific you're looking for?

No, quite frankly I was looking to take the easy way out - I thought if someone had a wiring diagram already, why reinvent the wheel? I'm about halfway through documenting it now, and while it is straightforward, multiple uses of the same color wire cause me to verify certain connections with an ohm-eater, along with the tender connection (I've never seen a 5 wire connector before) that needs to be verified. Just a matter of spending the time...

George,

Your B6 was actually released in 1989, so if that is when Lionel stopped publishing service info, you might have a problem finding it. Not sure if he is active or might have such a thing, but you may want to check @Chuck Sartor

Tom

Thank you Tom. I'm really enjoying this little (but heavy) switcher. Guess I'll just finish wringing out the diagram ... unless @Chuck Sartor has a real one??
