Wiring Issue:

I have a 1940 – 42 lighted Caboose, NYC 19400, Lionel Number under the carriage of 2957-7.

The light wire has broken away from the Truck.  The truck has a plastic slide shoe underneath.  But where does the wire from the bulb socket go?  What is it soldered to?  And where should the ground wire be attached?  The ground is completely missing so I need to know at both ends where it needs to be soldered.  I can’t seem to find any wiring diagram on-line to answer my questions.  Thank you RLS.

An online auction site picture of the underside of the caboose shows only two sliding shoes for the electromagnetic couplers. The light in your caboose may be an add-on and does not seem to be original.

To add the light would require a different truck with a roller pick-up, TT-1940

The hot wire from the socket would go to the roller, and the ground wire to the truck frame.
