  • Woodland Scenics BR5873 - Smith Brothers Appliance & TV Store - Regularly $171.99 - Sale Priced at $139.99
  • Footprint: 9 9/16" W x 7 7/16" D x 4 1/2" H

Smith Brothers TV & Appliance Store has the newest televisions, refrigerators and more. This Built-&-Ready® structure features flickering TVs tuned into the latest programs and a brand new colored TV on display. Turn the TVs on with LEDs made for use with the Just Plug® Lighting System.

Just Plug into a Light Hub and watch the screens come to life. An eye-catching printed interior creates the illusion of depth, from the shop at the front to a stockroom in the back.

The building is hand-painted and weathered with loads of signage. Other exterior details like a loading dock with a dolly, a dumpster and more add to the building’s authenticity.

I really like the rear dock!

I received my Smith Bros TV & Appliance Store today. I won't attempt to repeat the beautiful pictures taken by MrMuffin above. Instead, here is a nighttime look into the windows. Most of the TV screens are glowing with a shimmering, variable-intensity backlight through a B&W film giving the illusion of an active screen.

The Smith Bros TV & Appliance Store is basically the same building as my IGA grocery store except for the interior. My only quibble with the store is that it does not have exterior front lighting. I wish they could have at least lit the Smith Bros sign. Nevertheless, here was my solution for the IGA store. I placed a Woodland Scenic LED lamp across the street to illuminate the front. Looks much better in a night scene (compare to my first picture above)

I’m not sure televisions were around in the era I’m modeling. Now your going to make me do some research.  That is a very cool looking structure. I usually like to build kits or even scratchbuild. I do have the Woodland Scenics Post Office and Feed Supply on my RR. Frankly I’m decent at building structures. Still not as good as these that come out of a box.

I thought this building looked pretty neat, but unfortunately its a bit "old fashioned" for me. I hope they do more with the TV effects... this concept would look really cool if the made a building as a sports bar or something with the TVs on the bar wall.

If someone makes a cool bar, I’m in. I really like the menards bar and grille, but I’m not up for paying the secondary mkt prices.
