I was looking for dimensions on some Woodland Scenics buildings on their website this morning when I checked out their "Coming Soon" section. Has anyone else seen the Tidy-Track (TM) maintenance system they are bringing out? This is a great idea - not terribly innovative, perhaps (except the clip-on cleaning rollers - awesome idea) but very well executed, it appears.

Tidy-Track

Unfortunately, only some of this system (and not the wheel cleaners) will be available for O gauge, but I think it is a great system and maybe I can modify the HO wheel cleaner to fit O guage - I'm certainly going to try.

For the most part most of what they have seems like it could be done just as easily by hand with a scotchbrite pad, and knowing Woodland, I would think the cost for that stuff won't be cheap.

Perhaps the cleaning solution might be special though as who knows.

But having said all that, (and of course they don't have one for O ) that thing that cleans all the wheels in one shot looks really interesting, but does anyone knows how it works as the description is pretty brief.

I took the Woodland Scenics product one step further:  Their handle is way too short and the whole "system" seems overpriced for what it is.  I took a SWIFFER floor cleaner, attached 2 cleaning cloth pads, added denatured alcohol, and cleaned the track.  This works for the hard to reach places on the layout because of the handle length.  The Woodland Scenics item would be better for tunnels, I'll admit, but I don't have any.  And only if said tunnel is easy to reach.
