Get one!!  It is amazing.  I just picked up mine from Nassau Hobby today (thks Charlie and Chris).   Spent the afternoon setting it up and I could not put the remote down.  The ease, simplicity, and amount of functionality Legacy offers is incredible.  Best 300 bucks I ever spent.

Im still perusing the novel (instruction manual) that comes with the base...the features are nearly endless.

That discussion is not for here though...

My advice, get while you can at a good prices and then build on it with the wifi addon, possibliy connect it with DCS if you have that, and perhaps add LCS if that makes sense down the road.

Apple has the most consistent target, Android has too many variations . A real pain to program for

I disagree on too many variants comment.  You pick an android os like 4.0 or higher and form factor and code away in Java.

Apple has different ios and form factors too.  The argument is the same.

By form factor I mean device size as in real estate. Example: the lionel game only runs on ios and an ipad.  You can't play it with an iPhone because it was designed that way.

It is the same concern on android side.  Pick your minimum os and form factor just like apple development.

But since the wifi will have published apis, building a custom client to use them can be done for a browser or dedicated client app on iPhone or android.

If I'm not too busy, I may build my own client on android but I'm betting someone will beat me to it since I try to stay away from the computer when not working.  I think lionel is working with Blu something already on this.

Anyway the wifi add on is the most exciting part to be added to legacy and I upgraded my to cc just for that new future capability.

Rudy, I'll contact Lionel developer partner program.  While I haven't tried the bluetrain version yet for android, it may be fun looking into this for dedicated wifi support via browser and android.
