Yeah, I downloaded mine copy by 11:03.  I've gone through it once.  Not a loco I really must have, although I imagine I will get one of the Berks.

My only definite buys are:

- The Vision PFE reefers, maybe the addtional pack later

- One of two or three of the UP cabooses pictured there and on the MOW page later

- The ATSF map slogan cars - brown instead of orange, but have a set

- The Pacific Fright Express Southern Horrific reefer - goo pun!

- Maybe the UP passenger car two-pac

After a quick look --

For PW and Conventional Classics fans looks like they have listed for -- what -- the third straight year    the UP Anniversary Set, the Illinois Central F3 Set, and the Navy Alco Set.  Sheesh.

Also a handlful of 'postwar inspired' F3s. Wabash, NYC, and SF.

Not much for me here.

Nothing struck me as a "must have" although I was disappointed by the freight cars that were listed by the cardinal direction of the road name ( Northeast etc) as Midwest was missing. I flipped through again to make sure I did not unintentionally miss the listing. Some things never appear to change. I was surprised by the amount of sports, Nascar and other ( Area 51) sort of selections. It was fun to browse through but nothing extraordinary enough to purchase..Ill just keep saving my pennies for the next round. Not bad, just pretty much the usual stuff.

Well,  I have been grousing and politicking for Lionel to do the USRA Heavy Mikado and there it is.  But talking about hitting a good, strong ball but having go foul, they sure did that to me!  I wanted a USRA Heavy Mike in Milwaukee Road livery but what do they do it in?  Frisco, CI&M, Pittsburgh and West Virginia!  Sheesh!  The Milwaukee had 100 of these engines and I'll bet some of these other little lines were lucky if they got ten of 'em.

Well, I guess that what I'll hafta do is buy the "pilot" model, and have it painted and decorated for my road.  Sorry Guys, to those other Milwaukee people that I thought we were going to have an answer to our prayers.  I just can't imagine that Lionel can make such poor management decisions about prototype RR's, numbers, paint jobs, time or era represented, etc.

To Lionel:  Glad you did the engine; it was about time.  But your choice of railroads really sucks!  The Milwaukee Road really was a popular railroad and typically engines representing that road sell very  well.  Maybe next time?

The four-wheeled North American freight cars in those sets look ridiculous to me. Either make them with eight wheels or offer four-wheeled European freight cars with the sets.

This pretty much lines up with my own thoughts on Midwest based roads in terms of freight equipment generally being ignored. Whether its the Alton, TP&W, Milwaukee, Chicago Great Western, Chicago and Eastern Illinois,  etc etc..I am not losing any sleep over it but you would think there was nothing between the East and West coasts...despite the fact that Chicago and St Louis holds the first and second place for sheer railroad activity. It seems to be either NASCAR, aliens, sports teams or reruns..kinda like my cable tv lineup..a hundred channels and nothing on.

Seem it's an extreme cost cutting measure...save 2 wheelsets per car and truck assembly...notice also the plastic fixed couplers.

Would not be surprised to see these sets under $100.- street price on Amazon before Christmas
