Mark From Menards may be on vacation, but Menards themselves certainly haven't been. You've got to check out these (3) new buildings I came across on their website this morning while looking to order a particular box car I wanted. First off is their fantastic "Menards Stock Yards". What a great rendition of a small midwest stock yards with stock pens (complete w/hogs and cattle), a rail car loading chute as well as a load out chute for a farm truck or some type of semi livestock trailer. The pens and loading chute are well done as well as the overhead catwalk for yard hands to traverse the yards and also with Jack the German Shepard laying up there waiting to be called in to action on a moments notice to help round up some livestock. The small scale house and enclosed sales arena finish up this great setup. This will be a must for any midwestern themed layout. And to top it off there's the brand new Stock Car to service the stock yards. Looks to be about the same size as their ever popular box car and at only $19.95 each, we're all going to want to stock up on those.
Then there's the new "Menards Tank Farm". This is another great rendition of an oil tank farm that could be located about anywhere. The large realistic Gas/Diesel tanks with all the above ground piping and fuel lines as well as the intricate overhead loading area for your tanker truck or tank car again makes this a "must have". The built up berm around the facility in case there is an oil spill is very well thought out. Good Job, Menards! What's really cool is the neat chain link security fence around the perimeter of the base as well as the overhead LED security lights that again lines the perimeter of the facility. Looks like this one has a pretty large footprint, so it's going to take up a lot of real estate. Outstanding, Menards. You really out did your self with this one. I can't wait to see this one in person.
And finally, Thanks to so many here on the Forum, it looks like they finally answered your request with their new "Jack's Brewery". (I can't even begin to guess where that name came from)! Again, another outstanding building with loads of LED Lights, lots of windows, a really neat loading dock with busy workers loading and unloading the good stuff. It also has a very nice animated sign that's a real eye catcher. I think with all the Forum members that have requested this item, this is sure to be a big hit for Menards.
I can't believe they just put these out with no Teasers or Head's Up! And on the weekend, no less. I don't think this would have happened if Mark from Menards would have been around to oversee the release. That's what makes it ever more special for me. I love these kinds of surprises.
I for one will be ordering at least one of each of the buildings and more than one of the stock cars. Make sure you check out the Menards website ASAP. This is going to be a great weekend. Oh, and one more thing... April Fools!
