Picked up a cheap ZW and initial triage shows it needs some rollers, but the cord is new(ish). However, the laminations are "loose". They slide north/south, and I can even compress them by squeezing (see Core Picture). Aside from the wobble I get good voltage from all terminals. Should I bother to "straighten" up the edges and wedge or shim the plates?

Only other issue is that Roller C is always on. Setting the dial to off the roller is still just barely contacting the first winding (putting out about 4 or 5v). I can push it off the coil, but not through the dial. Not a big issues as I use C and B for fixed voltage accessories anyway, but is this a simple fix? (tighten an internal fastener connecting the dial and the arm?).

Thanks for your knowledge and help, as always.
