I have a post war ZW transformer and my dog ate the right large handle. I have a new handle to replace the one that the dog ate. but I can't figure out how to take the handle off. Does anyone know how to remove and replace the handle?

Use a 4-40 X 1" screw to "run in" on the hole in the center of the dome portion of the handle. See figure 1.

Thanks for your help. What holds the new handle on after you have drilled the center hole with a 4-40 X1 inch screw?

It’s a friction fit on the shaft. The handle has a 4-40 nut imbedded in it so when inserting the machine screw, it pushes against the shaft to remove the handle. The screw is only used to remove the handle.

You don't drill the center hole, you just use the screw to remove the handle.
@360RPMHere's a link to Tranz4mr's step by step guide to ZW _Handle Replacement which may be helpful

Thank you for posting page 3. Do you or anyone have a link to a complete VW and ZW Service Manual? I did find some pointers to Olstenstoy, but that site won't load and they are rumored to be out of business.
