I recently purchased a Williams Scale GG1 and I would like to convert it to command control, preferably TMCC. I have been looking at the Electric railroad company web site but I am confused on what is needed for the conversion. I don't care about sound as long as the horn works on the GG1. Any suggestions?

In general when you convert to TMCC you lose the ability to trigger the horn or whistle the conventional engine came with but ERR did offer a board that had a terminal to trigger the horn. If that is no longer an option then you would have to buy a Railsounds board to give you the horn sound.
I agree Boxcar Bill is your best source.

The Williams GG-1 does up into a great DCS conversion. If you do your G in TMCC (ERR) please keep us posted how it works out.
If you use one of the ERR board, the DC Commander or the Cruise Commander, there is a 5V output from the board when the whistle is blown that will allow you to kludge a simple circuit to honk the horn using a 5V relay.
Basically, you power your conventional horn board from track power with a set of diode strings in each direction in series with one lead. The relay shorts all but one of the diodes on one side of the string out to apply a DC bias to the track power and results in the horn being activated.
Since you don't have smoke on that unit, you can also wire a relay to the smoke output and use the smoke on/off to ring the bell using the same technique but shorting all but one of the other diode string.
