I will be up front here, I do not do prewar trains. I was in a conversation the other day where the subject of William's prewar trains arose. Someone thought he purchased the Lionel equipment. In fact he did not as he had all of his production equipment produced so that he could make the new prewar line.
He sold all his tooling to Mike and later Mike contracted with Lionel to produce the Lionel prewar line.
If Lionel still had their equipment why would they need Mike and the William's created tooling. It suggests that some time in the past the Lionel tooling disappeared. Does anyone have an answer or thoughts?
