(01/14/16) Milwaukee Road Hopper from Menards!

That's a good looking car!!! The ATTSF car was kinda toy like look.......This one looks GREAT!!!  Are these the same size as similar Lionel car???

Here are the dimensions I gathered.

10-3/4" L (hopper only), 12" L (coupler to coupler)
3-1/4" H (including coal) measured from rail
2-3/8" W

-Mark the Menards Train Guy

The body and coal load look like the are from W/WBB.

I'm not Donald Duck, so I am not worried about scale.

But did MILW paint hopper cares in orange?

Now Menard's need to import some very "Friendly" cars:  For the SP, T&NO, Cotton Belt!

They can make the Milwaukee Road hopper in Yellow next time.

While I am more familiar with the Yellow paint scheme, I can also recall the Orange scheme.

With all these offerings lately and the one on the 25th, whatever it is, I'm wondering if Menards takes direct deposit and I can cut out my bank altogether!! Lol

 I agree !!! Just ordered the surprise box, then ten minutes later the hopper came out.. dang.. should have been slower today, it would have saved me some money if I ordered  them together...

The new Milwaukee hopper looks great! How about offering the MKT "Katy" Hopper?

This hopper looks great. It well sell very well. Orange is my favorite color, I really like this car and at $20.00 it's a winner.

Milwaukee Road open hoppers were freight car red. Not yellow, not orange. Covered hoppers were yellow or gray. Nothing wrong with painting a toy coal hopper yellow if you want to, but the only authentic Milwaukee Road color for a scale model is boxcar red. As a side note, the Milwaukee frequently used gondolas for coal, gravel, or other loads that most railroads carried in hoppers.

Here is an idea, put the "Built by Menards" under the car. 

Just a thought,

A second production run can be brown with white lettering.

A third production run can be yellow with black lettering.

Very nice!!! The guys at the Milwaukee Lionel RR Club should be all over this one!

This is a nice looking car, but probably too modern for my application.  However, I am guessing other roadnames and styles of cars will follow.  They are arriving sooner than BTO, anyway.

Will definitely order some. The Beer Line is short on hoppers. It sure looks nice in orange even if it's not the appropriate colour.  

I sure hope they do a Baltimore and Ohio 4-bay coal hopper.

I'm really liking all the Menards releases. I just weathered a Susie Q boxcar tonight from them and it turned out great. It's fun to work with their cars, if you mess up its not so costly.

Looks like the Milwaukee Road PS2 from the site of the Pullman Standard factory in Butler, Pennsylvania where they were made.  I live about 2 miles from the site.  I bought one on eBay last year but I forget the manufacturer.  Unfortunately the seller sent me the wrong car, I opened an eBay case, and was refunded my money; but I did not get the car.
