I can call up the images BUT the file is protected and I can't get it to print.

thanks - Steve

Steve,

I didn't post anything as I saw that others had beaten me to it.   But I'll scan and post mine tomorrow and hopefully you'll be able to print it.

OK, the first file is the 4-page instruction sheet for the 1033 transformer.  As it turns out I had scanned this a few years ago.  You should be able to print it.

However this 1954 version shows the U terminal going to the outside rails and the A or B going to the center rail which we know is not correct for multi-transformer applications.  But it’s OK if you’re only using one transformer and you don’t use any outside rails controlling signals, etc.

The second attached file is the complete 1965 Lionel Operating Manual.  Note on page 2 it shows the wiring connections for different Lionel transformers and for the 1033 it shows the U terminal going to the center rail.  Also it shows the LW, RW and TW with the U post wired to the center rail.

Hope this helps and Happy Holidays!

Hey Guys/Gals:

Great info and I now can include 1033 instructions with the train show sales I make.

We all know that the positive terminal goes to the center rail.  There is one transformer the LW that has the common/power posts wrong that will give problems phasing.

Positive terminal? In an AC world?

On the contrary, the LW posts are correct. They are the same as the 1033 - "U" goes to the center rail, the "A" posts are common. Same goes for the 1032, 1044,  1032M and 1232. Also 1034, 1144, RW, RX, & TW, and a few others, to include all single-train postwar transformers.

Multi-train postwar(and some prewar - V & Z) transformers, are constructed with the "U" terminals common... SW, KW, V, Z, VW, &  ZW.
