The Westchester Toy & Train Show is early this year: Sunday 11/17/19 from 9 AM to 4 PM at the County Center in White Plains, NY.

It would be great for us to get together for lunch that day like we did at last year's show. We can meet at 12:30 at Tom's table (he is MNCW on the Forum and sells great train-related books and Pre-War trains in the middle-left side as you enter the Show), and then we can all go together and walk across the street en masse to City Limits Diner for lunch.

As much as I love trains, I find that as I get older, the highlight of the show is getting together with Forum folks and expressing our enthusiasm for our hobby like the little kid old-timers that we are.

Please chime in and let us know if you can make it to this Forum luncheon. Of course, I'll be there.

Thanks Ted

As some of you may know, Joe Schiavone, local author of 3 books on the New York Central's Putnam Division, passed away in 2018.

Joe's friend, Brian Vangor who was the great videographer on Joe Schiavone's video, Walk the Put, has given me 6 of Joe Schiavone's personal remaining inventory to sell. At my table, I will have these books a little later in the morning on Sunday:

  • 3 copies of book #2, More of the"Old Put"
  • 3 copies of  book #3, Last of the "Old Put"

Each copy is $30.

I would love to go but work schedule won't allow it. Is this the only show in Westchester, or is there one at another time of the year? Kudos to Leroof for making the trip and representing the great State of Maine at this event.

John

John,

There is another show usually in January. I don't have the date yet. If interested, post the question next week and we should be able to answer, once the upcoming show (this Sunday) is done.

hope to visit you soon in the state of maine.

have a good weekend buddy.

Pierre,

As a duly appointed representative of the state of Maine, is the rumor true that will you be supplying us all with maple syrup and lobsters?
