Anyone have a 8 & 12 pin wiring harness from a upgrade kit 3 volt? A friend thought he was buying a proto-2 but it's proto-1(,going to be transplant ) I don't want to do a proto-3 upgrade. I could get by with just the 8 pin.

Plan B is to buy the JST connectors and make one. That's what I do when I need wiring harnesses.

Thanks for the reply guns . I don't know where to get JST connectors, heck, I don't even know what they are. . I was hoping one of the tecks or anyone might have a spare set they could stick in a envelope and mail. Apparently we can't buy 3 volt upgrade kits anymore. My friend has 6 RS-3s so one is going to become a dummy.
Digikey sells the JST connectors, they are the JST PHR Family Connectors, and they have all the sizes you need. Dirt cheap and the pins are listed at the bottom of each connector page.
You may mention my thread on the PA-09 Crimp Tool, it's the one I use for these and the TMCC/Legacy connectors.
You're looking for the white, not the black---correct? I have a couple of black sets from 5-volt locos that I upgraded to 3-volt.
Gregg, you didn't say if it's steam or diesel. I'm in the process to upgrading a Y6b steam loco from loco-sounds to PS3, and the kit is essentially the same as PS2. Less battery and with a different heat sink.
Those are all the 5V connectors, he needs the 3V ones I posted.
Gregg, I have the full 8 pin diesel harness available. With all 8 slots filled and 2 pin connectors. E-mail in profile. Also have other harness available if needed. G
First thing first.... Thanks for the replies. I went through all my junk and found a 4 pin and 8 pin connector that plugs into the board. However I cut all the connectors off and only have about an inch of wire on each lead, I'm going to try and make do and hard wire whatever I need to hook up. I may be back.
To RJR.. how are finding the PS-3 kits? a little more difficult. ?
Gregg thx.
Gregg, I'm doing a steam upgrade, not a diesel, so I express no opinion on the latter. So far, I find no substantial difference in the upgrade procedure. Of course, one needn't find space for a b attery, but that hasn't been a problem for me since I started using siupercaps for PS2, which are quite small.
Gregg, in a thread asking about a whatizzit, I mentioned two very minor issues with the heat sink.
