12889 Windmill made functional. | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a 12889 Windmill accessory from Lionel. General concensus I found is it just doesn't work. I decided to take it apart and replace the vibrating coil with a N20 series Geared DC motor. Just took 3 3D printed parts to work in the space available.

This is the motor

And a shaft adapter

The finished product is hard to distinquish from the original

Will use a buck convertor to go from 14V ac to the DC voltage needed for the motor.
