The Menards Morton Salt building uses a LED light strip as shown below and discussed in this OGR thread.

If that's what they used on your front porch then you can replace it for less than $1 if you do eBay … you probably need to buy, say, a 0.5 meter strip so you'll end up with more than you need.  Note it is the 5V type, not the 12V type.  Post a photo of what you have if you need help choosing what to buy.

Right.  If you search on just "5V LED strip" you'll get a gazillion choices no matter where you shop.  Here's some things to look for.

Strip voltage. You want a 5V strip (not a 12V strip).

Size of LED. Your picture suggests the LED size on the strip is so-called 3528 which is 3.5mm x 2.8mm.  If you get out a mm ruler you can verify this.  There aren't that many standard LED sizes used on these strips so you don't need precision calipers to determine what you have!

Color of LED.  From what I can tell, Grandpa is using White (or Cool White).  This is as opposed to Warm White which has the more incandescent color.  Your choice as to matching what's on the back porch or other buildings.

Spacing density.  It will say, for example 50 cm, 30 LEDs.  So that means the LEDs are spaced 1.6 cm apart.  There are only a few "standard" spacings so choose what works for you.  You don't need to match exactly what you already have if for example you want to light up more (or less) of the porch.  In any case, you'll undoubtedly be buying the shortest length as you likely need only a few LEDs.  So you need to cut the strip at the copper-pad boundary and solder the red (+) and black (-) wires to the pads labeled + and -.

On eBay, you should be out only $1 or so with free shipping if can live with the wait from Asia.  These are sold everywhere including US sellers though I'd think you'd be paying $5 or more.
