Say I have a 1948 madison car set in near new condition, but the windows are so bad that I want to replace them with re-pro windows. How much value would be lost if I did that.

Eddie, the way I figure it, is all my trains will be mine until Im dead. I don't worry about values because I won't sell them off. Are you the same?

the meylar plastic in those cars always seemed to yellow and bend and crack how about updating to the window inserts that were on the 1950 madison cars
Save the old windows, and put in whatever you want. If you sell the cars, just include the original windows. Should not touch the value since you have all the original parts.

I would save the old ones. New windows look better When running them or shelfing them For display.
