Hello does anybody know of somebody making 1950's era utility trucks ?? Bell telephone company panel vans or penelec utility trucks I have linemen climbing utility poles on my layout but no trucks to go with them ?? Any info ?? Thanks Gary Clare

Could a truck be cobbled together using a more modern (read:more available) utility bed placed on an older cab and frame? Or just get a stake bed truck, paint it in your utility's colors and place a wire reel on the bed. That would give the climbers a purpose. Don't know how practical either idea is, but they may be better than trying to find what you're looking for.

Gary:
I don’t have an O scale model to show you but I took this photo at the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC last month. It appears to be a former Bell System lineman’s truck. They have some nice trains there, too!
Did you ever work for Penelec? If so did you ever work at the Shawville plant?
