I happened across a 1995 news article on the sale of Lionel by Richard Kughn to Wellspring and Neil Young. Thought I'd share it for those interested in Lionel and model train history.
A few things stand out to me:
- Lionel's sales tripled during Kughn's nine years of ownership.
- Lionel, which then made most of its trains at its Chesterfield, Michigan, factory, had 600 employees at the time.
- The article's hook is the involvement of Neil Young.
