2001 lionel GP-38 Trouble ???

Hey all,

Having some intermittent power trouble with my locomotive...

Was running fine and all of a sudden it started acting up...

1) Applying power at the throttle (CW 80 Powered) Train hums and lights up (forward) no movement

apply lil more throttle , no movement , apply lil more and train takes off like bat out of ****...

Same thing in reverse...

Are there contacts or brushes in the motors that might need replacing ???

Also notice wheels are a lil sticky , Cleaned them with a Q-Tip and Oiled Axles and Gears ,

Stills seems to have a sticking point...

Anyone ever experience this please reply
