I will be posting periodic pictures as I start the restoration of this locomotive, the control boards have been cleaned and reinstalled and tested on the rusted chassis. Believe it or not, the motors and control boards respond fine. The shell of the locomotive, which is rusted in many places will be stripped painted black and restored too a Penn Central locomotive. Ugly mess, but I had a few locomotives that were submerged in salt water during Sandy, then left in the wet boxes for several months. The electronics and motors survived there as well. I actually dunked the motors in Evaporust and got rid of most of the rust as well. I was quite surprised that all that stuff worked after cleanup.
I bead blasted all the parts that had bad paint, fortunately it was only the chassis of the locomotives so I could just spray paint them black. I was surprised that the plastic engine shells survived way better than I would have expected.
