Lionel Heavyweight Passenger Car LED Conversion

Hi everyone!

I wanted to convert my Lionel Heavyweight Cars from the 50th Anniversary Set. I opened up the car to take a look at the inside. I see the light panel installed works around the holes in the car's ceiling. What would be my options for converting this car to LED lighting? Are there bulbs that could be installed on this board? I also saw Lionel makes an LED board for the latest Heavyweight cars. Would that be a suitable replacement? Any help is appreciated. Thank you all!

For cars that have those support posts that aren't used in the middle of the run, I just whack them off.  As stated, if you're squeamish about whacking the posts, just wire around them.

I use the light strip tape, but I also add a spot of glue in a few places to insure that the light strip glue doesn't give way after a period of time, that happens at times.
