Hi Guys, Just wanted to say the NMRA convention was fabulous. We had the Indiana P48 o scalers modular layout there with the O Scale Kings display  and it drew a lot of attention. We gave out over 200 o scale flyers to interested parties and most of them were to HO scale modelers. The layout really stole the show with P48 models and DCC operation.  It ran all 3 days flawlessly. One video crew going around the show came back and said they thought the layout was the best in the show.

There were lots of manufacturers and dealers and the crowd was big with much floor traffic for most of the 3 days. I had a great time and am very glad I attended.  Sam Shumaker

Joe,

Unfortunately there were no new announcements for O scale models not even from Atlas. None of the standard O brass importers did this show as well. Problem is the NMRA has a notorious reputation for not supporting 2 rail standard O scale  but narrow gauge possibly, however, this could change.

MTH with Mike Wolf was there along with some nice 3 rail operating layouts. I give Mike Wolf credit for making a showing and supporting his part of the hobby.

Now if you are into DCC which covers all scales of course there are updates to that from QSI and NCE both. There were hobby supply manufacturers like Woodland Scenics and Chooch attending which you do not see at the typical O scale shows that often unless it is the convention.

Unless all this changes for the bennefit of o scale you will have to rely on the o scale model internet websites and the shows for model information.

By the way addressing these issues is what we are trying to do with the O Scale Kings organization. Start paying attentionto their website form now on as changes are coming.Best Regards, Sam
