Hope everyone took notice that the very first float in today's Rose Bowl parade was a steam engine pulling two cars.

Yes, noticed that also, but the whole event is fantastic and has been for many years. It really is amazing what people can do with the materials available. I suspect if any one of them set there mind to it, they could make one hack of garden railway. Also very much like the marching bands.

This was the first year in many that we watched the whole parade. Of course we liked the train float. But the Kio with the waterfalls was really good too! The whole parade was very good this year.
Watched live on KTLA without commercials. That big train float was by Honda and was first as Honda is the parade sponsor. The float was great as the steam loco was very cartoon like with the stack and boiler pulsing with each turn of the wheels. The Japanese HS was the best band. Good show....
