got this today,,,they really must have put the factory on ot,to get all the 400's etc out,,,this is such a nice change from purple

NICE color, but still NO brass or nickel plates! LCT did the same thing with my RED 216 hopper with heat stamped gold "LIONEL" on both sides. Cost cutting?

It is not an effort to save money. If MTH makes a car with graphics the slots for brass or nickel plates are removed. Except for some 500 series coal cars which originally had brass plates and graphics.
