Searchable Lionel Part Numbers for Custom Runs?

Pretty much all Lionel engines and rolling stock have an item number regardless if its in their catalog or an item a dealer offered. Whether Lionel shows parts available for that item is hit or miss. Lately even catalog items show few if any parts available for them. Many times if the item has been offered in the past then you might find a part from an older run that could be used.

In the past an item had to be past its warranty period before the public or even service stations could order parts.

@J.Dooley Maybe this would be something that you could send over to Ryan at Lionel as a suggestion and see what he thinks. I mean if anyone would know or possibly do something about it, I think it would be him. It would be an interesting thing to do as at least you would know that it was made.

In trying to find parts in the “new” part site because of your search anything remotely specific your get nothing so you have to sift through 500 parts of what you need isn’t in a breakdown. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I have found some special runs do have parts breakdowns or just at least an acknowledgment they exist.
