As I continue to work on my 2046, I have test run it, and it sounds as if the gears are dry the way they make noise. I have greased them, but so far the gears are still noisy. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Oil both ends of the armature and all intermediate gear axles, and driver axle bushings.
Grease the gears with something that won't sling off like Lucas Red 'N' Tacky #2, but then also coat the backs of all of the intermediate gears with a film of the Red 'N' Tacky to quiet them down. The aluminum parallel plate motors are noisier that their steel counterparts.
