How to change a chuff switch to a Hall effect sensor?

Can a Hall effect switch be wired into there was once a cherry switch? And vice versa? If so, how? And am I correct in assuming that the green, yellow and blue wires on the hall effect switches are 5vdc, plus both "switch" terminals? Which color does what?
