2333-20 locomotive cleaning/lube

Trying to clean and lube a 2333-20 - trying to figure out how to remove the worm shaft assembly. I was hesitant to pull out the worm shaft assembly - on the front truck the end with the worm shaft bearing would come up so far but not completely out QUESTION IS SHOULD I AND HOW TO DO WITHOUT BREAKING ANYTHING ? See pic below

also if I remove the worm shaft assembly will I have access to clean/lube wheel worm gears?
