Decided to pull this postwar 2340 apart again for another look and discovered these truck wheel marks on the bottom of the frame. Don't know how this engine ran even when it was new if the wheels at the end of the trucks are contacting the frame. Would appreciate an opinion on getting my Dremel tool out and cutting the frame to give the wheels clearance. Thanks!

Bill, when assembled, is the "pivot screw" as I call it too tight, ans is there some sort of washer or spacer meant to be under it? I am not that familiar with how this all goes together on the real postwar GG1. Just going by this picture and how that has caused me issues on another loco. I circled in red what I'm talking about.
My theory: if that's too tight it would snug the frame down to the 6 wheel truck.

Negative on that. The pilot trucks on both ends are plenty loose. Its the trucks on the drive wheels that are contacting the frame especially when I put the cab back on and there is extra weight pushing the frame onto the wheels.
Gotcha. Can you perhaps put a washer/spacer between the frame and the power truck? That might give just enough clearance.
Thought of that but will it lift the motor shaft worm gear from the truck drive gear and interfere with the mesh between the motor and truck gears.
