Just acquired a 238E loco in great shape with the exception that it is missing the metal Lionel Lines emblem at top front. Any ideas where to purchase?
thx

I'll check my parts stash. If I have one, it's yours.

Thank you so much!!!!
I checked my supply of name/number plates. Unfortunately, I don't have one. Here are a couple of places I'd try if I were you:
Henning's Trains
The Train Tender
I don't know what became of George Tebolt's inventory, but it might be worth asking around. There's always the chance you'll find a junk engine as a donor, too.
Thank you
i tried Jeff but he has an out of office until Feb
will try Hennings.
thanks for your consideration.

Good news: Jeff just got back to me and has one. Told me to contact him after Feb 1.
thank you Blue Comet
That is great news! I have dealt with Jeff before and have had very good service. I'm glad you found what you were looking for.

Thank you John.
last question: I inherited a 226E loco and am looking to find the matching tender 2226W. I know about EBAY but in your opinion are there other areas to search for one? I am new to the prewar train world!!
Thank you again

Hi Mike,
Are you a member of TCA? If not, I highly recommend joining. In addition to supporting the organization that is dedicated to preserving the history of toy trains, membership also gives you access to the online exchange where members list items for sale or trade. You will also get information on local chapter and division meets, and most of all, you will meet other tinplate collectors who are willing to help you when you have questions.
There is also the "wanted to buy" section on this forum. You'll never know unless you ask.
There are also many people on this forum who are willing to help you. All you have to do is ask.
Welcome to the world of tinplate, and if I can answer any of your questions, my email address is in my profile.
John
Perfect: I just joined!!!
thx again and over and out.
