We are pleased to announce that Dina and I will be hosting our 2nd Annual Open House at our house on Saturday, August 2nd. We had a lot of requests for the date of this event so we are trying to give everyone some notice and, if all works out, we will choose the first Saturday in August for future open houses.

Just like last year, there will be plenty of home cooked Italian food, drinks, dessert and trains, trains, trains.  Please RSVP on this thread so we can come up with a head count. We had about 60 people last year and I have a feeling there will be even more this year.  I will post details as we get closer to the date.

Here's a preview of the real thing in our backyard!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Alex

Just back from 10 days in Italy and of course checking the OGR board for all I missed.

I'm so sorry to say MJ and I will be at the Newport Jazz Festival that weekend and will miss this event. Thanks for the invite Alex, tell Dina we said hello. I wish we could go and see everyone at will surely be a great day of friends and trains.

I actually spend a lot of time in Staten Island when I am visiting my parents in NJ as I have cousins all over the boroughs, my cousin Ed Burke is the Staten Island Borough V.P. We have had many "cousins days" at Ft. Wadsworth.

Paul - why is my desk rocking like the cruise ship - Licata

Nick, thanks for the compliment to my wife

Marty, I'm hoping Chris will be at the controls again.

Alan, you're welcomed to park in front of my house, right next to Marty

Dr. Jack, I was thinking the same thing, maybe it was Ben at the controls lol

Paul, I wish you guy's were able to make it. Say hello to MJ

Brian, I live in Staten Island, I will email everyone who is going to attend all the info needed. As we get closer to the date.

As for what you guys would like to bring, Dina and I were thinking (bring your own booze).

Thanks for all of your responses,

Alex & Dina

As of now my schedule says I am off so me and Louise will be there  We will bring you a little box made of 1000 matchsticks from the emperor of Japans house.  I will also bring the Moo Goo Gai pan but can't serve it until 5pm so nobody gets confused.  And if that was me the neighbors would have known you knew me  Mwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa  Mwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa about 20 times

Bob,

Keep us posted and your 2014 ride is ready!

Alex, right now it is on the calendar but need to confirm later as family may try and add something that I will have to share the day with. If all goes well, Joanne might be able to make it also!

Alex,  sounds like a grand event.  You can't miss with good food, friends and trains together.  As you know, living across the country restricts being able to attend your annual open house.  I look forward to someday making the trip and meeting you and Dina and seeing your wonderful train layout.  Thank you for all the challenging projects you have completed for me.

Alex & Dina.   Thanks for the early info on your open house 2014.   Had a great time last year.   Super tasty food and great time with train friends.   How much Moxie should I bring down?  Put me down for 3 right now. (Deanna, Ian and myself)  I will let you know if anything changes because of work or etc.

Mike
