Marx Army train components sell high....although I don't find them that uncommon...

although, on eBay this evening, some other Marx, "deluxe plastic", is going for Lionel

prices, too.  So putting together a train of them, in the condition shown above, won't

be cheap, and neither are the boxed sets, which also show up frequently on eBay.

(I am not familiar with the coupler(s) on the armored Lionel piece, so can't comment

on that)

know what you're buying before you bid on prewar military Marx.  i've seen several cars recently that were advertised as original and were fakes.  the machine gun car above may seem c7, but it's missing the ammunition belt.  the wrecker car shown is either New Marx or a custom repaint.

being tabbed into the frame, Marx cars are also easily recombined to make pieces never offered.  the original mil sets never had a tank car so, having a spare OD frame, i've converted a black Sinclair tank to fit in with the Army consist, and although it's all original Marx, i'd never advertise it as an original car.

cheers...gary
