Even though I like the 400E's, I have really grown to the 390E as well. However, I am really wanting some color changes over the standard colors that Lionel originally came out with and MTH has followed with to stay true. Don't get me wrong they are all nice, however, I would like to see some other color options, for example, the Daylight or Southern. Would anyone else like to see other color options?

the 2016 LCT has 6 different options. The Grey is the only new color.

MTH is all tooled up to make this engine in a number of colors. Plus the street price in the last catalog was only 500 compared to over 800 for a 400E.

If they made Blue Comet cars in SP Daylight colors I would be up for a 390E in to pull them. Make a 400E in Daylight colors for a choice.

Still waiting for my 2 tone Blue 390E to pull my Blue Comet cars. IMO the best set up for a Blue Comet. BTW they are making a 390E with Nickel trim in Blue Comet colors for Nickel trim Blue Comet cars.

I would !! I have the  black Lionel 390E, and may have found the two tone green for sale and I'm Hoping we can agree on a fair price. But a two tone NYC , NH, Reading etc. sure would be nice. I agree with the thought that it's a tinplate toy to be enjoyed . I view all my trains as moving art.

JohnnieWalker...
I was not sure if you were aware of this or not...unless you prefer an older model, check out the 2016 Lionel Corporation tinplate catalog....bottom of page 21...two tone green 390E's, and unless I am mistaken, they're due to be delivered soon. Item 11-1050-1.

I missed the 2 tone green 390's first time around a few years back and have been anxiously awaiting the release of the new one...start page of Sidetrack hobbies has a link to the catalog here, and Al usually offers great sales, give him a call, bet anything he can help you out and he is a sponsor on the forum...

link or address here to view catalog: www.sidetrackhobbies.com/

For those that may be curious why I posted Sidetracks link....partly because Al works for & deserves every plug he gets, also for some reason, and I know this doesn't make sense, but when I go through Sidetracks site to view the catalog, it works so much better than when I go to the MTH site...
