3D modeling and printing.

Over a year ago I made contact with a gentleman online, that allowed me to use his 3D model of a White Pass GE Shovelnose(originally in n scale). I have had to tweak it a bit in order to make it work with the postwar alco chassis I will be using, but I'm almost ready to print.

Now I am diving into 3D modeling and trying to teach myself the ins and out of the program sketchup.

I am making progress on a unique caboose I have wanted to model for a while now. I am pretty much done with the basic shell. I just need to finish the window detail, the catwalk, and the door and it will be done too.

I'm excited to have these unique pieces join the rest of my O-gauge White Pass fleet. Yes I know the White Pass is narrow gauge. My world, my rules.

That's pretty cool. I doing the same thing with a designer on Shapways to Enlarge the CAB and nose of his HO GP20 for my kitbash a MTH SD24 high nose to ATSF low nose.. We also talked about enlarging his HO SD24 to O Scale and making it a low nose. I still need to send him the measurements for the MTH frame. There are defiantly many possibilities now with 3d printing.

I just ordered the 3D print of the Shovelnose diesel. The delivery estimate puts it in 2 weeks. I'm excited about getting my hands on this model after almost 2 years of anticipation.
