I had this engine a few years ago and sold it. I managed to find another one recently at the right price and got it set up for running. Also 3RSed an I12 to go with it. Here’s some pics and a YouTube.

Gorgeous. So is your layout. If I didn't already have way too many trains I would 2-rail scale one of these - and a Bipolar . . .
Beautiful job on the weathering, Norm. Not too little and not too much, just perfect. I also like the way your track lighting creates lite and dark areas on your back drop to make it look cloudy and as though the sun is shining through holes in the cloud layer like in this photo of the Warley National Model Railway layout.
Norm, great work here sir! Yours is truly one of the most 'real' layouts I've seen. Your attention to detail and lighting is superb and it really shows in your photos and video. A 'real' pleasure to watch!
Thx you guys. Say, is anyone out there running Cruise M with Legacy in R100 mode? I can't seem to get it to respond correctly but maybe I need to update my firmware. CAB1 mode seems to work best so far.
Thanks for posting the video and photos Norm. It was great to see a somewhat longer video. The EM-1 looks and sounds great, and it's always inspiring to see your attention to detail on layout, scenery and track work. Can you share any details about how you weathered the B & O EM-1 ? I just got mine running again, after making the drive line repairs.
Excellent work, Norm. As always!
A fantastic layout with loads of details and a well shot video. Good to see that the EM's fireman runs with a clear stack. The engine has an interesting whistle. Please post more videos when time permits.
beautiful. Just beautiful.
I do think you need a new facet to your hobby: a string of weathered B&O hoppers!!
Chris, I weathered it with MM acrylics. Mostly Grimy Black, with a bit of RR Tie Brown on some running gear and Polly Scale Rust on the couplers. I follow up with some minor drybrushing here and there. I had a minor mishap with the smoke unit and had to scrub the smokebox out and respray. Not sure I will reinstall the smoke unit at this point even though I set it up with GRJ's Super Chuffer.
Norm Really NICE !!
Thanks Steve. Next project is my old TMCC NYC L2a. It's pretty much done but I decided to put Cruise M in it. It showed up today so I will probably install it tonight..
