Yesterday I managed to win a few pieces at the Stout auction, a Williams 381 and a prewar 402 in mojave. The 402 is in a C6 condition, mostly because the wheels have been replaced but overall it's in nice shape with original paint. For the 381 I'm just going to back it with some SG passenger cars, but for the 402 I'm thinking a freight set would be a nice change. My question is, did Lionel ever have a 402 freight set and if so what did it consist of?

Set number 406E was available in 1926 and 1927. It included cars 211, 212, 213, 214, 215, 216, and 217.
There was an earlier set 405E that had the same cars in the 10 series 11, 12, etc.
I've got a 408 engine, but I like the 402 as well. Simple engine that seemed almost destined to be a freight engine.
ok, thanks! I'm going to keep it simple I think, caboose, flat car, tanker and maybe a crane.
