This is my first 022 switch . Bought it off of Ebay . It works fine for the through ( controller lit green), but as you see in the video it goes completely out when trying to throw it out. ( No red light).

I've gently taken it apart to see that the wires are not broken ( none were), and put it back together. I've tried both track power & direct voltage through the plug.

Any Ideas ?

Thanks for the reply Mallard4468,

I noticed that I wasn't getting any responses, and I don't do any internet socializing anymore. I'm trying to figure this out.

On a side note, even though it's not currently working (it only switches from Thru to out, and then the lights go very dim). The seller refunded my full amount + shipping but told me to not worry about sending it back, so.

I appreciate everyone's help on here ! :-)

I'm glad that you got a refund.  Some of Lionel's recent O31 switches (not Fastrack) have issues that are documented in other Forum threads.  They seem like a recipe for frustration.  Some of them belong in a landfill!

Unless you're really tight on space, I would stick to a minimum of O36 for curves and switches.  O36 Fastrack is what Lionel is putting in their train sets nowadays.  If you already have a lot of O31 and tubular metal track, then I would look for refurbished postwar O22 switches sold by tinman3rail (see a popular auction site.)  Or convert to Ross track, they also make a rock-solid O31 switch.  (I wish they made them in O36!!)

I don't know how much you paid for that imported wonder.  I know that new switches from Ross can seem a bit pricey.  But when you think about the difficulty of installing a switch, the potential frustration from failures, derailments, bumpy operation, etc., I think spending more for good ones is worth it in the long run.  My $.02.
