I have been asked if there are alternative wheel sets which can be used on the 96x passenger cars which are similar to SHS/MTH profiles or if American Models has some thing which will do, any ideas?

SHS once made wheels that would work in Flyer trucks, the axle ends were rounded. MTH hasn't continued the effort.
AM has replacement passenger car wheels for their products, but I don't think the conical axle ends will work in a Flyer truck.

Is it possible to remove the wheels from the AM pin point axles and then get some stock bar the same size and press them back on again?
Do you know what the diameter of the AM axles are btw?
AM's passenger car axles are 0.095" in diameter.

That sounds promising, basically the same size as Flyer which in metric is about 2.4mm
Looking at AM’s website I believe that the 28” wheelsets are the closest to Flyer which come out at 11.11mm while the Flyer wheels are about 10.75mm
Thanks for your help Rusty, it helps this project along further now.
