Thanks, Jim. That's kind of you and I always enjoy sharing similar interests with you in different posts. My dissertation time period is from 1773 to 1815, and yes, the parallels between now and earlier times are stunning. Hence, the need to keep up with the times (literally, The Times :-). (But I dare not say more .) The only problem with studying the early republic is there are no trains to write about in my required 75000 words, so I come here and blather on a bit. This forum is a very tempting distraction!
