Ken posted this earlier this week. It was a good read.
Very nice. Thanks for posting. I hope trainworld will easily continue into the fourth generation. Congratulations.
Hi Alan Miller Happy Thanksgiving, Did you make a spelling mistake in the headline of this post with esposure ? Because now it's definitely gonna snow next 4th of July ( B the way I'm the dopey transmission mechanic that the first time I posted here I wrote like a 1000 word one paragraph piece with no punctuation that you caught me on which I never did again, I think)
{By the way, thanks for the article I love reading things like this
The greatest generation after World War Two would have the "Owner"of Joe blows train store. Now you have the director of sales and marketing. His grandfather the original owner would have said what the **** is that?
Just like in restaurants anymore you don't have a cook, now you have an executive chef
Same with small businesses you used to have the boss or owner now you have the CEO. In the 60s you would only hear CEO when they were referring to who ran General Motors
Don't mind me here, I'm five weeks out of a total knee replacement (TKR) and I actually had a good night's sleep last night,so I'm just having fun here
I hope Trainworld can keep going and going into the future. Dad bought many gifts for me as a child from there that I would pick out of catalogs or the ads in the magazines back then. He was very busy as a Doctor but would call in mail orders for my train related gifts at those times of year. I still order from them from time to time, my prewar Lionel OO Hudson came from a prewar collection they were selling. Even The Soprano's series shot some scenes in the store.
Congrats Ken,
and thank you again and again.
